Abstract: This paper studied the application of vertical greening in urban complex. This paper expounded the concepts of urban complex and vertical greening as well as the role of vertical greening in urban complex using the methods of case analysis, literature research, investigation, statistics and induction. Guangzhou Parc Central square was selected as the research object for investigation and statistical analysis. The results showed that there were 37 vertical greening of exterior walls, 2 stepped greening 2 building roof greenings and 1 indoor green wall, 4 vertical greening forms in total; A total of 5 plant varieties were used in the vertical greening of ParcCentral square, and the frequency of use was between 60% ~ 80% for gooseberry vine, 10% ~ 20% for Loropetalum chinense, and less than 10% for Osmunda, forsythia and pepper; In view of the existing problems, some suggestions and optimization strategies were put forward, such as increasing the vertical greening area, enriching the vertical greening forms, increasing the vertical greening plant species, increase color viewing plants and enrich plant landscape color and meeting more vertical greening functions.
