Abstract:
In response to the enormous workload and accuracy challenges in tunnel BIM model construction, this study presents an innovative parametric automatic modeling method. Initially, an efficient table reconstruction technology was developed. It can migrate detailed curve - element data from CAD drawings to Excel tables, offering accurate data for subsequent steps. Then, using metric standard model templates, parametric tunnel family components were set up and imported into the Revit project environment. With Dynamo - enabled visual programming of Revit, an automatic parametric modeling program was created. This allows one - click generation of 3D tunnel entities from Excel data, improving modeling efficiency, reducing human errors, and ensuring model accuracy. Moreover, a BIM lightweight engine was utilized to enable efficient WEB - end model preview, display, and interaction, enhancing model usability and accessibility. Results show this automated method can efficiently produce various tunnel 3D entities. Compared to manual Revit modeling, it shows significant efficiency gains, a lower error rate, and excellent maintainability and up - datedness, providing an advanced, efficient, and reliable solution for tunnel BIM model construction and management.
