A Review of the Application of 3D Scanning Technology in the Detection and Appraisal of Building Structures

  • With the development of society and the gradual improvement of laws and regulations, the safety of building structures has increasingly attracted people's attention. At present, how to accurately and efficiently detect and evaluate the safety of building structures has become a focus of attention for practitioners and researchers. 3D scanning technology has attracted widespread attention in the detection and identification industry due to its fast, efficient, and non-destructive characteristics. By scanning the house using devices such as lasers or cameras, accurate 3D model data of the house can be obtained, including precise information on various structural details. This enables inspectors to have a more comprehensive and accurate understanding of the actual situation of the house, reducing the interference of subjective factors and improving the accuracy of the evaluation. This article provides an introduction and exploratory review of the principles and applications of 3D scanning technology in the detection and identification of building structures, in order to provide new development ideas for practitioners in the field of building structure detection and identification.
