Abstract
In order to understand the effect of polypropylene (PP) fiber content on the compressive and uniaxial tensile properties of cementitious composite, this paper carries out compressive and uniaxial tensile tests on polypropylene-reinforced cementitious composites (PP-FRCC) by varying the volumetric content of PP fiber. The results show that the compressive strength of cementitious composites tends to decrease with the increase of fiber content, but the uniaxial tensile strength and ultimate tensile strain are improved to some extent. The damage form changes from brittle damage to ductile damage. When the fiber content reaches a certain amount, the cementitious composite material perform strain hardening behaviour. It shows that PP fiber has a certain role in enhancing the ductility of cementitious composites.
