Effects of Manufactured Sand Characteristics on Fluidity Ratio of Manufactured Sand and Mortar Strength

  • The fluidity ratio and mortar strength of manufactured sand are the key indicators reflecting the performance of manufactured sand. In order to reveal the relationship between manufactured sand characteristics and the fluidity ratio and mortar strength of manufactured sand, This study systematically studied the influence of the manufactured sand gradation, the content of stone powder and the MB value on the fluidity ratio of manufactured sand and the mortar strength by adjusting the manufactured sand gradation, the content of stone powder and adding mud powder. The results show that as the manufactured sand gradation changes and the volumetric porosity increases, its fluidity ratio decreases accordingly, the compressive strength of mortar show a linear decreasing trend, which indicates that reducing the volumetric porosity of manufactured sand by adjusting gradation is beneficial to the fluidity and compressive strength of mortar; as the content of stone powder increases, the fluidity ratio shows a linear downward trend, while the compressive strength increases linearly, indicating that there is an optimal content of stone powder; with the MB value Increase the fluidity ratio decreases significantly, and the compressive strength will first increase and then decrease, but it will not have a negative impact on the compressive strength.
