Analysis and Research on Stability of a Zigzag Shear Wall in External Stairwell

  • In order to correctly solve the stability of a zigzag shear wall in an external stairwell in a practical project, the common structural design software simulates the distortion.Four representative practical projects with different intensity, wind pressure and aspect ratio were selected to analyze the feasibility of canceling the one-shaped shear wall in the stairwell.Three different methods were adopted:changing the thickness of the one-shaped shear wall, improving the damage degree of the connecting beams, and setting the floating plate on the outside of the one-shaped shear wall.The design load value method was used for loading analysis, and the finite element software Midas Gen was used for linear buckling analysis according to the actual stress state of the model.The results show that for the area with low intensity and low wind pressure, when the ratio of height to width is not large, the zigzag shear wall can be eliminated.The stability of the shear wall can be improved by increasing the thickness of the leg.The smaller the damage degree of the beam, the better the stability of the leg of the shear wall.The stability of a zigzag shear wall can be greatly improved by installing a floating plate on the outside.
