An Experimental Investigation on the Correlation Between Soil Structure and Sedimentary Environment of Zhanjiang Clay

  • Insight into the formation of Zhanjiang clay structure is limited and it is essential in terms of evaluating and predicting the safety and effectiveness of construction on Zhanjiang area with structured clay. The physical and engineering properties of Zhanjiang clay were provided, and the structure characteristics was investigated. The effect of sedimentary environment on soil structure was explored based on the experimental data of Zhanjiang clay in this study. The high bonding strength and stable aggregation of Zhanjiang clay are due to the abundant organic matter and acid environment.
