Abstract
To study the impact of pipe jacking construction passing underneath a utility tunnel, this paper analyzes the impact of horizontal displacement and settlement on such structures during construction by establishing a finite element model. Taking the Shui Li Station extension of Guangzhou Metro Line 8 as an example, the theoretical values calculated using the Flac3D modeling analysis software can be analyzed before the actual construction process. Based on the modeling data, the impact of the undercrossing construction on the utility tunnel can be assessed, providing reasonable and reliable predictions and controls for possible situations during the construction process. This offers guidance for the safety of pipe jacking construction passing underneath utility tunnels.
