Experimental Research on Karst Cave Detection in Engineering Site Based on Ultra-high Density Resistivity Method

  • Karst caves have a great impact on the safe construction and operation of engineering projects. The accurate detection of karst caves and the corresponding treatment measures are the important premise and guarantee for the safety and smooth progress of infrastructure construction projects. The resistivity method investigates the distribution and vertical stratification of rock based on the difference of electrical conductivity of underground rock, and is particularly sensitive to the water content of rock. In this paper, we try to obtain the data of the study area by using different device modes of ultra-high density resistivity method, obtain the electrical structure of the study area through preprocessing and inversion, and reveal the distribution characteristics of underground karst caves in the study area. By comparing with geological data, the results show that the ultra-high density resistivity method has a good application effect for the formation division of the building site and understanding the development degree and distribution range of rock cave.
