Abstract
In order to investigate the bearing behavior of carrier piles in high-rise buildings in Shaoguan area and their applicability under multi-layer soil conditions, this study conducted on-site single pile static load tests using slow maintenance load method. The results show that the bearing capacity of the carrier pile meets the design requirements when loaded to the design load, and has not yet reached the ultimate bearing capacity state, and the settlement also meets the specification requirements; The lateral resistance of the carrier pile gradually increases with depth, and then decreases after reaching a certain depth, showing a parabolic development trend. Under the action of various loads, the lateral resistance of piles at different depths is synchronous and gradually exerted; The pile end resistance of the carrier pile accounts for about 75%-85% of the current load, showing obvious end bearing pile characteristics. In addition, the loading curve of the carrier pile shows a gradual change, without any steep drop or excessive settlement, indicating that its bearing capacity still has a lot of room for development. Comprehensive analysis shows that carrier piles have good applicability in high-rise buildings in this region, and provide preliminary ideas for further in-depth research on their ultimate bearing capacity characteristics.
