Abstract
In order to study the horizontal displacement response of foundation pit excavation under soft soil geological conditions, taking a deep foundation pit project in Nansha District, Guangzhou as an example, a 3D finite element simulation was conducted using the finite element software Midas/GTS NX for the excavation process of the foundation pit in soft soil.Compared with actual monitoring data, the error in simulating the maximum horizontal displacement at the top of the foundation pit under each working condition does not exceed 28%. Analyzing the reasons for the errors, it can be found that although not all construction details considered, the horizontal displacement of the foundation pit in the 3D finite element simulation meets the requirements of the specifications and can be supported by monitoring data, which provides reference for the design of foundation pit support.
