Abstract
In the development of urban construction, early building structures often suffer from various problems such as varying degrees of aging and damage, aging or missing facilities, and severe decline in structural durability. The maintenance, management, and renovation of old houses is a complex social management challenge that involves multiple aspects such as urban planning, social governance, economic investment, and resident living. This article combines the current situation and various problems that arise in the use of old and dilapidated housing in the old urban area of Guangzhou, analyzes the difficulties and key points that need to be solved in the maintenance and renovation of old and dilapidated housing, and explains that the maintenance and renovation plan for old housing should adhere to the principles of safety, economy, practicality, and construction convenience, prioritizing the selection of materials similar to raw materials to maintain the continuity of the building's appearance and texture. Corresponding maintenance and treatment measures have been proposed for various specific problems, in order to provide some technical references and reference for promoting the maintenance and renovation of old houses and improving the living environment of residents.
