Fine Detection and Application of Glare on Municipal Roads

  • Road glare is an important factor that endangers road safety. This article studies a method based on threshold increment refinement improvement. The glare test is divided into two parts: light curtain brightness and road surface brightness. The road surface brightness can be directly tested by instruments and has a significant change in the field of view. The light curtain brightness requires additional calculations, which is more complex, but has a small change in the field of view. The measurement of glare adopts a special test system, whose principle is to test the brightness of the light screen and road surface of road lighting, and automatically analyze and identify the brightness distribution characteristics and abnormalities. In this paper, through the measurement of several projects, it is found that although the single index of the increment threshold of road glare index meets the requirements, the actual brightness difference is uneven, which may still lead to the visual blind area when driving in reality. Therefore, for road glare detection, the brightness distribution of road area should be taken into consideration, specifically, the parameter is brightness uniformity.
