A Study on Segmented Excavation Length Considering Spatial Effects for Narrow and Long Deep Excavation in a Deep Soft Soil Area

  • When excavating narrow and elongated foundation pits such as subway tunnels or urban comprehensive pipe galleries in soft soil areas, the influence of their spatial effects should be fully considered. This article combines the case of excavation of a certain channel foundation pit in Zhuhai area, and verifies through finite element modeling analysis and on-site monitoring results that a reasonable segmented excavation length is the key to safe excavation of narrow and long foundation pits, which can provide reference for subsequent narrow and long foundation pit excavation projects in deep and soft soil areas.
