Abstract
The rapid development of digital technology has reshaped the conservation paradigm and innovated information acquisition, processing and representation of historic gardens. Based on 218 publications from Web of Science Core Collection and CNKI (2003–2024), this study employs CiteSpace 6.4.R1 to visualize and analyze the research progress in digital conservation of historic gardens. Results show that research has grown rapidly since 2021; 51.42% of English papers are contributed by Chinese institutions. 9 clusters and 16 keywords are identified;research focuses on digital documentation, construction principle analysis and information communication;most cases limited to Jiangnan private gardens, while studies on Lingnan and modern/contemporary gardens are scarce.Three implications are proposed: (1) Expand data collection to cover Lingnan and modern/contemporary historic gardens; (2) Establish a unified regional information platform for management, monitoring, collaboration and public display; (3) Integrate digital conservation technologies, data and construction practices to promote the digital transformation of the landscape industry.
