Quality Challenges in Prefabricated Concrete Construction: Remedial Strategies

  • This study delves into quality issues in prefabricated concrete structure construction, proposing solutions to advance sustainable development in the construction industry. Through literature review and on-site data, the production process is detailed, covering template design, reinforcement processing, prefabricated component casting, demolding, curing, transportation, hoisting, connection, and node quality control. The research quantifies problems in structural quality, dimensional accuracy, appearance, construction processes, and nodes. Results show that over 28% of components have defects, with an average dimensional deviation of 3.2 millimeters. Additionally, 21% of components exhibit surface defects, and 12% encounter issues during hoisting and installation. Nodes, on average, deviate by 6.2 millimeters. Practical solutions are proposed, including integrated technologies for quality control in casting and curing, precision manufacturing processes, digital tracking for prefabricated components, innovative assembly methods, and lightweighting techniques. Advanced technology is applied for node quality control. By implementing these solutions, the study anticipates a significant reduction in quality issues, providing a scientific basis for prefabricated concrete structure construction and propelling sustainable development in the construction industry.
